Well..I am back...again! LOL It's been an amazing, sad and happy month and over all busy busy busy!
My DH's Aunt had a stroke, we are her primary care givers. We went to see her every day and the hospital was about 1 hour away from us...so needless to say there was not much time left in the day by the time we got home. Definitely no time for relaxed creative stamping! Auntie Betty passed away 2 weeks ago with us by her side, her favorite music playing and us holding her hand. She is now at peace so all is good. That was the sad part. The amazing and happy part was when my girlfriend Linds allowed me to be at the birth of her baby girl. OMG what a thrill! Having never given birth to my own babies this experience ranks up there at #1 for life experiences! :-) Mum and Baby Kate (Baby-cakes to me) are both doing fine! Big sister Em is adjusting LOL. now I will have two little bodies to tattoo! :-) (See earlier posts).
So today I finally have some art to share with you all..if you
are still dropping by! First these sweet little cards arrived in my mailbox from my friend Mo in Toronto..I LOVE them...especially the little Pallet o Prints Zebra from the new Zoofari set! That little guy inspired the next card I made for my downline swap. Gee those little monkeys are small when you go to cut them out LOL! FYI Did you know Ms. Rhino becomes Ms. Hippo if you cut her horn off? I finally got to use the awesome new BLING brads I got from the preview catalogue. I had to restrain myself from buy9ng all 4 assortments! :-(
The second card I made for the card swap was using the wonderful new Punch Box Set...Three for You. As soon as I saw this punch I IMMEDIATELY saw this card in my head. Now normally I am a sit down and let the inspiration happen kind of stamper...but this was a must make idea in my head...so what do you think? Cherry Blossoms. It is hard to see in the picture but I stamped Fine Lace on the pink card stock. The new Wild Wasabi green is AWESOME...love the shade!
The last card for this evening is one I made for the Splitcoast Inspiration challenge...
The inspiration was a shirt..here is the link to the challenge image. What do you think?
I embossed black onto Cool Caribbean (going to sooo miss this colour!) and then white onto Creamy Caramel. Cut out the sections from the creamy caramel and adhered them to the CC card..layered onto Creamy Caramel and then onto Cool C card base. Ribbon and hardware finished it off. I fine the challenges on SS great for getting me going again..especially after the last month!
So thanks for bearing with me...and coming back to visit. Unfortunately this next month is just nuts as far as work and travel...In July I will be in Korea, London twice, Ottawa, China, volunteering at a kids summer camp (non stamping related) and then off to convention in Denver..Phew..I'll try very hard to get some art up to share with you. I'll share my DL's creations from the swap if I don't manage to get anything done myself! LOL
Happy shopping with the new catty!
