I guess it has! Where does the time go? Now I do have ssome excuses...been to Australia three times, Japan once, Vancouver island, the interior of BC, and had my brother out to visit and create a new pond for us. The garden is coming to life finally and I have been doing a big clean up and moved a ton of stuff while my brother was here. I'll be back to regular paper creations over the weekend but for now I'll leave you with a little bit of my personal back yard paradise. If fact I was about to book a vacation in Mexico the other day and then it hit me like a ton of bricks..why would I want to go to Mexico and leave this behind when it is at it's very best......we are staying home and playing in the garden LOL!
This is the entrance at to the back garden. The white wisteria is just starting to bloom and those blossoms will continue to grow longer and longer as more flowers open over the next couple of weeks...last year some of them were about 3 feet long! The scent of the white variety is so lovely. I was just outside now with the dog and it is lovely at night!
This one is the garden when you pass through the arch with the patio beyond that again
This is on the patio...and it is our neighbours wisteria..isn't it beautiful? I always feel a bit guilty as we definitely seem to get the best of it on our side of the fence LOL.
Thats the new pond on the bottom...with the removable cover on it. We get raccoons and herons dropping by and so that was the main reason for the new pond..deep and hard to catch the fish (which we have yet to get) or pull the waterlilies out (the first waterlily pad reached the surface today YEAH!!)
This is the other side of the garden..I want it to be tropical and lush...the banana tree is just putting out the first leaves and I am fertilizing it like crazy...my brother says thy are "gross" feeders and will get huge leaves if we keep the fertilizer coming daily :-) Thats our little Thai spirit house beside it.
This was a total surprise for me when I came home from Victoria after a day trip with a friend. My brother created this at the very end of the garden in an area that needs a lot of work and it looks so pretty. They are all succculent plants and so the direct sun and heat all Summer is fine for them with little watering.
This is the very very end of the garden beyond the veggie patch. Again looking for a lush tropical feel and so planted some palms in the boxes. A friend is giving us a new bench and we are going to paint the red chair with a fresh coat of paint. Again hoping that the fertilizer will make those palm grow big and huge...but then of course they have to fit in the green house over the winter LOL!
Thats it...my little bit of heaven! Just have to get the trim on the pond finished, annuals in and the fish purchased and settled into their new homes and we can relax and enjoy the Summer outdoors!
Thanks for dropping by! Paper stuff coming up in a few days,:-)
