This could be long but there are photos along the way...
I got to spend lots of quality fun time with my good friend Haroldine out in Pitt meadows yesterday. As I left with my Big Shot machine and dies and other tools we wanted to play with...my husband said innocently..What time will you be home...I looked over my shoulder and said "Honey...remember? I am going to HAROLDINE'S???" with an incredulous look on my face. He groaned and remembered...yes...the last time I went to Haroldine's for a real play day I came home as he left for work the next morning....but that was not going to happen this time right? I mean..I was hosting a Partylite party the next day (today)..had to prep and round up a few last strangler for the guest list LOL. RIGHT?
So I headed out to Haroldine's..meeting my friend Maggie on the way. Maggie is a card maker...not a stamper...she beads. She is one of the fortunate creative people who actually sells her card and has a thriving business doing it. I'll post her cards later in this blog for you to ogle. Maggie wanted to break into the glitter of card making...and I knew that Haroldine's glitter would be just the type of super fine beautiful glitter she would want so she was coming along for the play date.
Monday, Haroldine's store is closed..but nobody seems to know that as the phone rang incessantly...finally about 4pm the phone quietened down, Haroldine's partner in glitter who had been over making samples left and we got down to some serious business. On our list was Micro-fine Glitter, Copics, Terrific Tape, and Haroldine was going to try out my Big Shot and see if she liked it enough to carry it at her store, Be Creative. (Bwhahaha)
So first on the agenda, the glitter. No ordinary glitter...this is the finest smoothest glitter I have ever seen.
Here are Haroldine's sample pieces..you can play with these to help pick the colours you want to buy...they look different in the jars so she made these cool little diamond shapes so you can see the real look and shade
You can move them around and play like a kid with these little things LOL!
Ok..so then we interacted with the Terrific Tape and the Big Shot and the dies....ohhh...check this out
Twinkle Twinkle...so sparkly!
This is what my friend Maggie made...
and....at about 10:30 I had an idea (this happens when I am with Haroldine...our creative juices start to flow as everyone else starts to settle down for the night)...lets get her hubby to make us 3x3 blocks to play with...HaHaHa...lucky she is married to the (2nd) sweetest man ever Bob (..Hi Hon..your still my #1) who at midnight gave us toys to play with..oh and did I mention he also baked us his famous chocolate chip cookies? Crafters need energy right?
Ohhhh...I was almost jumping up and down at this point..LOL
close up of the basic blocks...still to be finished with little accents etc.
OK..I saved the best for last...still have to make a project with this beauty but isn't it stunning????
Oh..you should see this in real life..sigh..I love it..
here is a detail...all images can be clicked on for a better look.
This polka dotted one was my fave...
OK..I really have to go and get some sleep...in the dentist chair at 8am tomorrow.
OH..what time did I get home?? um...just after...um...4am!!!!
I'll post my letter blocks tomorrow and also some of Maggie's beautiful beaded cards...you will love them.
Need some of this beautiful glitter? You can contact Haroldine and Bob at Be Creative email@example.com / 604-465-2359
Tell her Sue sent you ... oh ..and ask her when she is going to have her blog up ...
on the other side she has the square ones and the re-inkers...oh...and the big Compressors too..altho they don't seem to be able to keep up with her back at Copic...LOL...again the tiny store out in the country took the supplier by storm...
and if you are lucky enough to visit her store you can play with these...her feeling is..why would you buy a marker if you don't know the true colour you are buying..so she has them all for you to try.
Haroldine, her husband Bob and their son Kyle are all Copic Qualified so can show you all the tricks! :-)
Can you tell I love this lady?
Back with more creative adventures tomorrow...if my mouth feels up to it :-(
Hopefully the look of the blog will be better in a couple of days...bear with me...and if you can share how you put a photo as a banner I would be so grateful..I got a picture in there but it was ginormous!!
