I started this up last night and finished it off this morning. These little kits by Stampin' Up! are so easy to put together...and you can use the little stamp set Note to Self to enhance the calendar pages.
The stand I painted blue but could have just used a craft Bashful Blue ink pad also...long story...won't bore you except to say I started it in the wrong colour...LOL
I'll be offering this as a class in the near future so watch for details.
I bought racks for my punches before and resold them as I really didn't want to clutter up the little bit of wall space I had left in my office. But I also love being able to see them all...so I succumbed again and bought these racks at Ikea. They are long enough that I can fit all my punches on two fo them (for now).
My desk does not look like this for very long LOL! So you have to take pictures in those seconds when it is :-)
I saw a 3-D challenge on BRANDI's Blog recently. She did a beautiful creative little container. I thought I would try one also...another Halloween inspired item :-)
I followed the link to the challenge and found a group of very creative people over at
Stampinaddicts. This is the challenge place HERE if you wan to play along!
What do you think?
I kins of reversed yesterdays colours to see how they would look. I used a dauber to brush the ink on. A very different look on the dark cardstock.
Here's a close up
This is so easy to do...and takes no time at all. The paints come in Silver, Gold and Frost White. Imagine the possibilities!!!
I am feeling so much better today, swine flu is no fun. People wash your hands and if you are not feeling well...just stay home!!!! OINK!!!
It's that time for crafters...time to start pumping out those Christmas items now or else you'll be just like me last year....well lets not dwell on my issues...LOL
I got the new All Purpose platinum Ink with my last order. It is suitable for all porous surfaces...paper, fabric, wood, leather etc etc. A sponge dauber is a good way to apply it...Just shake the bottle, then take a dauber and stick it into the ink in the lid of the bottle...it fits perfectly. A little goes a long way with this stuff. Keep your lid closed when not in use so it won't dry out.
I wanted to try creating a kind of vintage embossed ceiling tile feeling. So first I took my new Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder and ran Brushed Silver cardstock through it. BEAUTIFUL...but then I took the ink and used a little rubber 'paint brush' that I bought many moons ago (before SU) for some technique I could not live without. I finally got to use it LOL! (Alison I am sure you have them too) I dabbed the ink and applied it to the raised sections...can you see the subtle painting?
Silver on Silver it was very subtle but you can see the shimmer of the paint and when applied a little thicker it gave texture also. Here is the card in full
I used the set from the Holiday Mini, Delightful Decorations. There is also a wheel that co-ordinates with this set.I have to give a big YAHOO for the new silver and gold cord..I was not going to buy any because I didn't like how previous rolls had frayed when you cut them. Then Lydia over at Understand Blue told me that this cord does NOT do that at all...and it's TRUE..it doesn't fray..no little white insides coming out. Oh..did I mention it is elastic? Cool! Love it!!!
Thanks for dropping by
PS..Tomorrow similar technique but different coloured cardstock, different application tool for a totally different feel. Com'on back!
I finally found my googlie eyes...teeny ones that is..so my little spider is no longer blind...I did put him under a cup tho...cause I have enough spiders running around here...
Isn't he adorable? I used a small black pompom and then cut little legs from black hemp (you could dye the neutral one we have in the catty..I just had this left over) and stuck each on with crystal effect...make a little pool of it on a scrap of paper and then stick one end into it and adhere it to Speedy the Spider.
this guy apparently does not like spiders..
Don't you LOVE this beautiful wide ribbon? It comes in 4 colours.
Had the girl over for Stamp Cub last weekend.
This was the first card we made...I am loving this new Die!!!
The technique card was a magic Colouring card...I had not made one myself so it was a learning curve for me too..and I think we worked out an easier way to line up the images too than the instructions I found online. :-)
and the first Christmas card of the season...
Thanks for stopping by....been under the weather recently...feeling a little like this..
LOL..sorry..I know..it's disturbing! Fortunately I am on the road to recovery and will be back to my usual self soon.
