My Stamp-A-Stack tomorrow...

I have a fun class tomorrow evening at 6pm. In it everyone makes 10 cards..2 each of 5 designs. It's been a while since I created a card class like this.

Generic Cards

I wanted to make some cards to have on hand that I could make into just about anything..Thanks, Birthday, Thinking of You etc etc.

What do you think?

I liked how I could weave the little ribbon through the punched holes. It will be easy to add a quick little banner to this card and tuck it under the vintage brad, or even just stamp a sentiment on the inside. if I am in a real hurry!

Labour Intensive Vintage Christmas .

I have been loving the new vintage feel to some of the sets in the current Holiday Mini catalogue.

Over the weekend I made this card. I think it is the MOST labour intensive card I have ever made and I actually made multiples of them!!

I do love it...and if you receive this card from me this Christmas you better frame the sucker!! LOL

 

I used the Bells & Boughs set for the holly leaves that I then water-coloured and cut out (about 24 of them!!!). Layers, sponging, stamping, cutting and gluing are all part of this card :-)

My new favourite set...

Di Inspired..and someone else but who???

This card is based on THIS one by Diane. She is one beautiful stamper and I get loads of inspiration from her all the time :-)

now you see the greeting detail? I saw that for about a second somewhere as I cruised the inter-google-web looking at blogs..and clicked off the site before I totally realised what I had seen..and then it came back to me..but do you think I can find the post that some amazing person had this on? Noooo..so if anyone is out there and has seen this done by someone else..let me know and I'll link to it. I LOVE IT!!!! I stamped the solid butterfly from  Flight of the Butterfly set..then stamped the greeting from Sincere Salutations over top and cut it out..isn't it amazing? I may become addicted to this style of greeting...just sayin'. This is a great quick and easy card for any occasion!!!

Lydia Inspired

I got a beautiful white on white Christmas card from my buddy Lydia at understandblue and I wanted to incorporate her white bird into my card. The punch makes it so easy!!  And when they are just one colour they can easily be flipped to face each other :-) Here is my take. I made this for hubby for our 20th anniversary :-)

Stamps: Short & Sweet

Paper: Whisper White and a scrap of Real Red.

Vintage Birthday

I saw a beautiful card on the Stampin' Up! demos web page. Shannon West posted a lovely card...simple clean lines like I love. So I did a little CASE'ing, added my own touch and love the result!

I used the Vintage Vogue set again (I know..obsessed) and the greeting from the new 'MUST HAVE' set in the Mini, 'Well Scripted'. It is beautiful and elegant and simple all rolled into one. Love, Easter, Father , Mother, Birthday and Congrats are all included.

Here is a close up (because I love this lens and Macro photography and it's my blog LOL)

the technique here is easy. Stamp and heat emboss the flower in Very Vanilla. Take a dauber and sponge Chocolate chip ink over the image starting in the centre and going out beyond the edge of the flower. Take a tissue and wipe any excess ink off the embossed flower. Now stamp the vine image over lapping the embossed flower. Again take a tissue and wipe off the ink from the embossed area...this makes the vine appear to be behind the flower.

and a little detail on the inside of course. It is one of the things I love about SU's sets..there is always a little element that you can use to decorate the inside of your card and your envelope.

Wedding Invitations Prototype

My son is getting married in August. The wedding colours are Eggplant and Pewter with a vintage feel.

Christina came over the the other day and we played with some ideas based on a card she had seen last year.

This was the first try.

The rose on the Eggplant section is actually in silver. Christina (aka Teeny) really liked this first go around. I liked the card but there was something missing and I was not sure what it was...it just didn't seem special or elegant enough..or different enough...so I sent her home with this and let my brain continue rethinking it.

Later that evening I came up with this.

I was not sure how the embossing on the Eggplant would work out but it is really beautiful. So I continued a little more to play..

Close to the final design...what do you think?

I also added some sparkly eggplant stickles into the little buckle...just to bling it up a little. I'll show you the whole thing once I have it finished. Mike came and stole these ones to show his future in-laws...so no detail pictures...LOL

Card Club Cards

Had my Hostess Clubs this weekend..and thought I would share with you the cards we made.
The first is a lovely simple elegant one using the Manhatten Flower Embossing Folder. It is so easy and makes the most elegant cards. By just changing out the words or the colour of the inside cardstock this could quickly be a Sympathy, birthday, friend, wedding card.

This is done with Basic Gray cardstock in the inside.
 I'll post the other two over the next two days while I trot off around the globe again.

..wanted to share this picture of the table I set for my future Daughter-in-Law's bridal shower that I hosted on Friday. I was so happy with how it all turned out :-) Felt very 'Martha-ish' LOL

Colour Challenge

There is nothing I like more than a colour challenge.
It gets my Mojo flowing again..and I need that.
I finally have some days off (still lots to do but I think I can squeek in some creative time too)
I saw Kristina's Colour Challenge this evening and thought I would play along. It became a Father's Day Card ...wish I had my dad to send it to but will give it to my Father-in-Law which is good too.
