I missed the dead line to add it to the other submissions as I was away but here is my card never the less. I love the subtle colours!

Sketchy Friday

Look at me ...... another deadline met! This could be my year!! LOL

This card was for the newest sketch challenge with Connie & Mary

I rotated the sketch and played with some of the new toys again... I am totally in love with those ribbon flowers! I have almost gone through a whole package already!!!

It's 1am so I am going to make this quick and head off to bed! I have to get to bed earlier than 2am every night!!

Just Fluttering By...

One of the new toys you can NOW purchase from the Lastest Seasonal Catalogue is...a HUGE beautiful butterfly. It's a background stamp size!

What I did for this card is to emboss the Swallowtail butterfly image with black embossing powder. Then I watercolured it in the same colour as the card base..making the darker part on the inside of the wing near the body. The body I used Basic Gray to colour. You don't have to worry about staying within the lines for this one as you are going to cut off all around it..so just use broad washes of colour and play! NO FEAR!!

...cut is out then attach it onto the card front which I had embossed with the beautiful

Fancy Fan Folder (#127751 $9.95)

LOVE this elegant background folder! Added a little bling, a ribbon and a little word stamp! DONE! Easy to recreate in every colour of the Stampin' Up! Family!!

My very talented friend Jo played with me in The Stamp Cave today...we had a blast!   I finally got my LOVE banner finished! I'll besharing that too and lots of fetails about the upcoming Catalogue launch on February 9th! You won't want to miss that!!

Ink is Going Gray. I find it gives a softer look with such soft colours than using black.

I think I am going to add a little diamond between each bunting flag...looks like something is need to anchor it! :-) I'll post an updated pic later OK?

Happy New Year!

The best laid plans of Mice and Men (and me)... don't apparently  always work when it comes to keeping up this blog! :-) however..it's a new year and a new start so lets head out from here and forgive the past!

To help me stay on track with posting things to this blog of mine I am going to start doing challenges...sketch and colour challenges found on the World Wide Interwebz!

The ones I wil be following will be the SUOnly challenge for layouts. I will also check around and find a colour challenge. The two may end up being combined!

Another plan will be to do a weekly "Meme" card. What is that??

I have been so fortunate in my career choices. I had a great career flying the friendly skies for 33 years with a major airline. I retired from that job in February, now I am free to persue my other amazing job full time!

I have been a Stampin' Up! independant demonstrator for 10 years. It's been an amazing "fun" side job through which I have met the most amazing people and made life long friends. The First Rosemary Heights Retreat is over

WOW! What a weekend! I spent yesterday in a daze of recovery! My Rosemary Heights Retreat was a full on weekend retreat with classes and prizes and friendship and laughter and fun! The weather could not have been better and encouraged many participants to wander the grounds (60 acres!) and take pictures of all the amazing little statues, birdhouses and other little eye candy all over the area.

Lots of feedback and for the most part very positive. The retreat in November from the 9-11th is already 25% booked so if you want to join us e-mail me right away and a desposit of $100 will secure your spot! Balance of $165 due by August 31st.

Thank you everyone who came out to join me and support my passion! My goal is to provide the best retreat at the very best value I can. I think Rosemary Heights can provide the best of everything for your relaxing retreat with your friends. One of the girls brought her yoga mat and enjoyed the sunrise!

Retirement!

 

It's here..the retiring stamp list for 2012..and it's a big one..indicating that big changes are coming with the new catalogue and the new mini catalogue styles. These stamps are available until May 31st and then they are gone the way of the Dodo bird!
