Well..as you may have read in the previous post we went on a wonderful vacation to Turkey way back in August. Well let me tell you...have you seen the movie "Midnight Express"? Well our trip was nothing like that LOL!!! It was an amazing adventure. So adventurous in fact that we did not have the time nor the energy in the evenings to write the blog we have planned...we would crash and burn every night after climbing over ancient ruins and up mountains etc etc...then on the very last day...about 10 minutes from our hotel..I fell into a hole in the sidewalk, torn the ligaments in my ankle and spent the last afternoon of our vacation in the emergency department of a wonderful hospital in Istanbul. The staff of our hotel and the hospital staff were amazing and got me all wrapped and strapped and medicated for the trip home the next day LOL.
We do plan on writing the blog but the next paragraph will explain why it was still delayed even more..
We arrived home, me in quite a lot of pain, to discover my dear father-in-law who we have lived with and cared for here at home for 22 years, who now has alzheimers, did not do too well at the respite centre. He had deteriorated quite a bit even with the wonderful care he was given there. To make a long story short..we had to make the most difficult decision of our lives and have him placed into a full care facility. It was the hardest thing we have ever had to do. Today, about 2 weeks into it he is settled and is doing well. It is still very hard to accept but we did bring him home here again to try and after 5 days with 12 hours of nursing assistance every day we still could not manage. Huge adjustments for the whole family. Today we are all doing a little better.
In the middle of all this we decided to sell the house...and buy a new house...and all the while I am icing and elevating my foot!
The good news is...
My foot is almost better I will be back to the friendly skies on the 15th.
Grandad is all settled.
We sold our house within a week
We found a new house within a week
We move in January!!!!
nothing like getting things done eh?
Soooo..it's time to get back to some crafting!! The new house will have a most awesome stamp room. It is the Whiterock/South Surry area and I will be ready for business for February with lots of classes and fun events. Watch for my open house e-mail in January. You can sign up for my e-mails by clicking on the link on the top corner of the blog home page. I'll be working on the content of the sidebars over the next little while too so watch for specials and other fun things there.
In the mean time here is a little quick Simply Adorned charm I did yesterday. I just wanted to play. There is glass on both sides of the locket. This is the back actually..the other side has beautiful beveled glass but for the photo I turned it the other way so you could see the owl without glare.
I used the new Owl Punch (118074 / $23.95can); the 1.5"x2" charm (116799 / $29.50); 34" Simple Adorned Chain (116853 / $17.50) all from the main idea Book and Catalogue. The little pearl is from the current mini catalogue. If you don't have the current mini drop me a line and I'll be happy to send you one (Canadian guests only please).
You can see the full line of the Simple Adorned products HERE
Watch for more uploads soon! I am also planning a giveway!!! So come back and visit!!
Thanks for hanging in there...Sue
