I am home from Ontario and heading to Ireland today. Have not had time to post any pictures here yet but I did complete my photo hunt for October.

19 October, 2009 - Bloom

Even though it is Fall the geraniums continue to try to push their blossoms out...these guys need to be moved to the greenhouse soon.

I am leaving for Ontario today. Tomorrow is my sister's milestone birthday :-) Also my brother's (in Ireland) milestone birthday as they are twins..and his wife ALSO has a birthday the same day but one year apart...October is a busy birthday month in this family, that's only a few of them! Do you have a month that celebrates loads of birthdays?

While in Ontario I will be up North of Toronto in Peterborough...then we are traveling up tp visit my nephew and his wife and their kids. I have not met his baby girl yet and am dying to take loads of pictures of her...she is 1 year old already. He also has a step-daughter. More photos... They live in Petawawa as he is in the military and they live on the base. He is leaving for Afghanistan next Spring. I can't even think about that.

It is about 4 hours NORTH of Peterborough. My sister and I are planning to drive all the back roads so it may take us a couple of days LOL....I am praying the Fall colours will still be good but I may have missed them. She is planning the route through loads of small towns etc. so expect cool pics.

I'm not sure if i can update from her computer but I will do my best. See you in a week :-)

EDIT: I just checked the weather for Peterborough and Petawawa...-4...Oh Lord..need to repack.

18 October, 2009 - Macro play

Well of COURSE I was going to do a droplet of water on a leaf...what were ya thinkin'? LOL This was taken in my front garden on the Ginko tree

I do NOT have very steady hands...and it shows...gotta work on that ...the focal point is just slightly off on this droplet...but ya get the idea right?

The lens I bought was  Sigma 50mm...and I still have some more birthday moohlah burning a hole in my pocket ;-)

As the weather cools the garden is dying back...I have so many Hostas in my garden I've lost count...and for all the beauty they offer in the Spring and Summer they continue to grace my garden in Autumn

I also wanted to go back and get the reflection photo of the tower in Sydney...in the building kitty corner to it.

15 October, 2009 - Sydney Photo walk

I went  back to the park to try to get some pictures of the old chess players that I missed last week because my camera battery DIED!!!!

I had a surprise...there was going to be a Noodle Market that night so there was some nice things to capture...but first..my old man with the cigarette...he chained smoked..lighting the new cigarette with the old one. He'll probably live to be 101...or he is 35 now LOL

There was an ecclectic group of people there...watching...attentive...I loved how the children were enthralled.
