This month was a little different. I always have a Christmas luncheon for my Club Ladies. So for our class prior to lunch (yummy curried chicken and lentil soup) we did two technique pages and two samples. Here are the cards we made!
Both samples use re-inkers to color them.
The first is embossed in white..then the petals are painted with white reinker and allowed to dry. You then Paint over the white in the colour of your choice..I use Wisteria Wonder on this one. I also sponged the edges of the top layer of the card and embossed it with white embossing powder. I love this technique!
This one was done on Watercolour Paper but you can also use our shimmery white cardstock. You want a paper/cardstock that will be able to be spritzed with water.
Again emboss the image in white. Spritz the image very well with water. Then put the tip of your paint brush into the lighter shade of reinker first and then touch the wet image..it's like magic and totall addictive as the water carries the colour out to the edges of the image. The embossing works like a dam and keeps the colour within the lines. It's such a cool techinique! My nickname for it is Watercolouring for Dummies :-)
(BTW..the script embossing folder is only available until the end of the month! I do have an order going in today if you want me to add it on for you? Just drop me a quick e-mail. Thanks)
You can join the class as a member and just place a minimum monthly order or you can just drop in and pay a fee. Each class includes a technique sheet and sample and two other cards.
I would love to have you join us. Classes are usually held on the first Saturday of the month! Cost is $20 or $5 with a minimum $33 order on the day.
Thanks for stopping by!
