One of the very first card "suites" in the new catalogue is right on page 10/11. Birthday Fiesta! Its got a lovely Mexican Fiesta feel to it. Beautiful fun designer paper, an embossing folder and stamps and dies! There is also some cute ribbons to go with it all! I will list everything below!
As soon as I saw this set I knew I wanted to do a llama watching the sunset! His silhouette is perfect for this!
So I did a sunset wash on watercolour paper using re-inkers and let it dry over night. (You could also use a heat gun if you are anxious). I then stamped the sentiment which is from a different set and die cut the llama and the cactus from Basic Black card stock.
My friend Lydia at Understand Blue Blog (she is hilarious and so creative..follow her!) debates if this is a Llama or an Alpaca. Well, when I was in Peru it was explained to me that llamas have longer noses and alpacas are short stubby nosed critters (and I think so cute). The guide put the tips of his fingers straight out together and said "llama" and then pulled them all in tight and said "Alpaca"..so I am thinking this little guy is a llama. (you cannot see it in the silhouette but definitely in the stamp image)
Here is another card I made where you can see his pointy face :-)
Isn't this set fun and bright? Definitely puts me in Fiesta mode!
